AFTER OIL
- BOUBIAN ISLAND-
Imagine the future of the boubyan island in Kuwait
This project imagines a future of Bubiyan island without human and proposes sixteen different programs in sixteen small islands. As the sea level rises, dispersed patches of the inland will be under the sea level, which will make the whole land as a low-resolution land. This project strategically chooses 16 highest points in the island and plants artificial seeds, which will mimic the nabkha process to change the landscape and form sixteen individual islands in the future. The seeds for each island has a unique function; therefore, each island will have different programs. There are three categories in a program: human involvement, future energy, and animal habitat.
